About 25% of golfers swing faster than 105 miles per hour, which is tour-level speed. While most golf balls these days are designed for slower swingers, the Bridgestone Tour B330 Golf Ball is made exactly for those with big swings.
Bridgestone Golf 2014 Tour B330 Golf Balls (Pack of 12)
2 used from $15.95
- New Hydro Core optimized for swing speeds above 105mph
- Re-engineered Dual Mantle design reduces spin for longer distance
- New softer Tour proven Urethane cover for excellent greenside control
The Bridgestone Tour B330 Golf Ball is one of four different Bridgestone’s B330 options. The standout feature in this version is the firmer TOURcore (finally a ball that isn’t soft, right?). This is to maximize distance from fast swinging players, especially for players swinging over 105 miles per hour. Another crucial feature of the Bridgestone Tour B330 Golf Ball is the slipRes cover, which is designed to reduce spin off of the tee, and increase spin from the rough with iron shots.
The Bridgestone Tour B330 Golf Ball is just as good as any other Bridgestone option out on the market today. However, it is made for a specific kind of golfer. The wide majority of golfers swing well under 105 miles per hour, so a golf ball that is noticeably firmer would have a negative impact on slower swingers. Golf balls that aren’t soft for slower swingers tend to be stubborn off the tee and in flight. Furthermore, the cover is not designed to handle the likes of cart paths, trees, and the rough in general. As a result, scuffing can be much more prevalent for less talented golfers. Of course, I’m not trying to sway people away from the Bridgestone Tour B330 Golf Ball, but I highly recommend that slower swingers look elsewhere as faster swingers take advantage of its generous technology.
